SYMBIO Wildlife Park will unveil another major exhibit later this year when it takes delivery of two endangered red pandas.

Illawarra Credit Union will sign a sponsorship agreement next week that will allow the popular tourist attraction to introduce red pandas to the Illawarra. Symbio's managing director John Radnidge said the goal was to help ensure the species' survival by bringing the red pandas to Stanwell Tops this spring.

More will be revealed in a joint announcement with credit union chief executive Mike Halloran.

The red pandas will come just months after the arrival of six meerkats which have helped boost park visitors to record numbers.

Symbio had its busiest month on record in April. Mr Radnidge said it showed how well the public responded to exciting new attractions as well as the "pulling power" of Sea Cliff Bridge.

Future plans for the wildlife park include a big cats exhibit.
